Gary Daniel "Dan" Sanders, Sr.

Gary Daniel "Dan" Sanders, Sr. , 79, husband of Nancy Andirade Sanders, of Central, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2025.

Born in Pickens, he was a son of the late B.D. and Cecile Southerland Sanders.

Dan proudly served with the U.S. Navy for 6 years and fought in the Vietnam War. He later retired from Bellsouth after more than 30 years of service. In his free time, Dan loved to fish.

In addition to his loving wife of 16 years, Dan is survived by sons, Gary "Danny" Sanders, Jr. and William Sanders (Jamie Lynn); his daughter, Renee Sanders; a stepson, Richard Hightower (Teresa); stepdaughters, Michelle Moon (Greg) and Donna Gagne (Kevin); a brother, David Sanders; a sister, Lynn Simmons; and 13 grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Jack Sanders and Barry "Butch" Sanders; and a sister, Sylvia Ann Gillespie.
