Gary Ray Truett, of Piedmont, passed away November 18, 2017.
Born March 21, 1950 in Waynesville, NC, he was the son of the late Paul and Sara Truett. Gary graduated from Greer High School, Class of 1968, and attended Clemson University. He had a career in the trucking industry that spanned 50 years with J. Grady Randolph, Industrial Metal Processing and Pilot Freight Carriers. He attended New Spring Church - Anderson.
Gary's hobbies were cars, woodworking and traveling. His greatest pleasure was his grandchildren. You can't put into words the happiness they brought him each day with daily visits, sleep overs, and of course "Face Time" day and night.
He was a friend to many and loved his Lord and Savior. He and Marilyn recently celebrated their 50 year friendship with Drew and Paula Green in Los Angeles, appearing on the "Price is Right" and a Dodgers game; a trip that will be remembered forever.
Surviving are his loving wife of 47 years, Marilyn Williams Truett; sons, Darren P. Truett (Elizabeth), of Piedmont, and Steven "Cary" Truett (Christie), of Williamston; grandchildren, Nicholas, Jacob, Charlie, Mackenzie, Madison, and Carter; brothers, Danny Truett (Ann), of Roebuck, and Larry Truett (DeAnna), of Greer; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at 3:00pm in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 - 2:45pm at the funeral home.
