Calvin Eugene "Gene" Clontz, 72, of Watkins Road, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013
Born in Columbus, NC, a son of the late Edwan and Ethel Pittman Clontz, Gene was formerly employed with Cannon Supply of Greenville and a member of Jones Avenue Baptist Church where he belonged to the Fellowship Sunday School Class.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley Massingill Clontz of the home; a son, Ricky Clontz of Pickens; a daughter, Tammy Varner of Easley; a step-daughter, Marie Hatmaker of La Follette, TN; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Gene was predeceased by a brother, Charles Clontz.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Sunday at Jones Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Roger Couch officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Heart Foundation, 3535 Pelham Road, Greenville, SC 29615 or to the Alzheimer's Association, 301 University Ridge, Suite 500, Greenville, SC 29601.
The family is at the home, 136 Watkins Road, Easley, SC 29642.
