Cpt. Gene Edward Harrell, 68, of 1320 Saluda Dam Road, died Saturday, January 21, 2006 at his home.
Born in Gastonia, NC, he was a son of Catherine Southard Harrell McFerron and her husband Charles of Morehead City, NC, and the late Yates Edward Harrell. He was a minister with the Salvation Army.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Harrell is survived by his wife, Cpt. Minnie Cannon Harrell of the home; two sons, Ted Harrell of Hubert, NC, Cpt. Gene E. Harrell, Jr. of Union, SC; three daughters, Tina Harrell Braswell of Sanford, NC, Rachel Pittman Parks of Ikumai, Japan, Brandi Harrell Moody of Tulsa, OK; a brother, James Franklin Harrell of Hubert, NC; a sister, Margaret Harrell Mann of Newport, NC; twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at the Salvation Army in Easley with Lt. Col. David Mikels and Major Vern Jewett officiating.
The body is at Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown, Easley, SC where the family will receive friends Monday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM and will be placed in the church at 1:30 PM Monday.
The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City, NC. A graveside service will be 11:00 AM Thursday at Gethsemine Gardens in Morehead City, NC with Major Mark Bell officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army; PO Box 2148; Easley, SC 29641.
