Genevieve "Jenny" Boomer, 94, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 2, 2020. She was born August 14, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan, a daughter of Harry and Louellyn Iungerich Jervis. She was a loyal member at Trinity Wesleyan Church n Clemson.
Jenny grew up in the Lansing, Michigan area. After graduating high school, she went to work at General Motors in the Oldsmobile division. She retired as an inspection supervisor. Although she worked many long hours, when she wasn't working Jenny enjoyed painting. Jenny joined a choir that the Oldsmobile division had assembled. She especially liked the solo parts she had in that choir. She loved to travel, especially a trip she had made to Hawaii. She eventually retired to Lakeland, Florida where she was active in her church, both singing in the choir, and overseeing the nursery.
Jenny is survived by a niece, Joan Crain of Seneca, South Carolina; a granddaughter, Rhonda Howison of Mason, Michigan; and Rhonda's two children, Ryan and Conner.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Monday, January 6 at the Trinity Wesleyan Church, 700 Issaqueena Rd., Clemson, SC 29631.
