George Franklin Beck, 79, of 332 Edenberry Way and formerly of Florence, died Tuesday, April 15, 2008 in Easley.
Born in Lexington, NC, a son of the late Thomas Lindsey and Mary Elizabeth Snider Beck, he was a retired Insurance and Real Estate agent. After his retirement he worked as a courier for Pee Dee Isotopes in Florence. He was a veteran of the USArmy, USAir Force and Army National Guard and was a member of John Calvin Presbyterian Church in Florence where he was active in the Seniors Ministry.
Surviving are: a daughter, Libby Kobukowski and husband, Tony, of Easley; 1 brother, Charlie Beck and 1 sister, Willie Grubb both of NC; and 2 grandchildren, Matthew and Ashlea Kobukowski both of Easley. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Betty Lou Clement.
Funeral services will be 3 PM, Saturday at John Calvin Presbyterian Church in Florence. Burial will be in Florence National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 PM, Saturday prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice Care of SC, 110 Dillon Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
