George E. Clardy, 70, died Thursday, July 21, 2011.
Born in Augusta, GA, a son of the late Audrey and Eleanor Clardy, Mr. Clardy spent his childhood in Greenville, SC, where he graduated from Greenville High School in 1960. George worked for forty years in the engineering and technical fields with J.E. Sirrine, Daniel International, and served as Vice President of Eastern Design Services before retiring in 2006 from Quality Technical Services.
George was a passionate Clemson Tigers football fan and was a longtime member of IPTAY. He was also a member of First United Methodist Church in Easley.
Mr. Clardy is survived by his loving wife of twenty-five years, Marilyn Jones Clardy; two sisters, Elaine Wyatt and Mary Griffith; three daughters, Laura Vanadore, Cyndi Patino and Pam Osiecki; two grandchildren, Colin and Carson; and his beloved dog, Sophie Jones.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Easley First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Correll officiating. A graveside memorial and burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until noon Saturday at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
