George "Uncle Bip" Dobson, 84, son of the late James Walter and Tennie Gillespie Dobson, died Friday, October 28, 2011 at AnMed Hospital, Anderson, S.C. He was of the Baptist faith and the last surviving member of his immediate family. He lived most of
his life in Central and was a current resident at Emeritus Countryside, Easley, SC. He was very special to his family and was loved by all who knew him.
Survivors are: Nieces- Ann Cole Higgins, LaGrange, GA, Jean Cole Gillespie, Liberty, SC; Beth Cole Farmer (Mike), Pendleton, SC; Patsy Dobson Kimpton (Bill), Seneca, SC; Jane Sherman Arave (Dan), Columbia, SC; Nephews �?" Jim Cantrell (Annette), Abbeville, SC, Mac Dobson (Cindy), Anderson, SC; John Sherman (Donna), North Augusta, SC; Sister-in-law, Bernice Dobson, Central, SC; and many other close family members. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by: Sisters- Mary Cole, Lois Cantrell and Lorena "Jo" Sherman; and Brothers-Tom, Robert, Wess and Jim Dobson.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm Sunday, October 30, in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00pm at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens.
Memorials may be made to the Central/Clemson Senior Center, 130 Commons Way, Central, SC 29630 or to a charity of one�??s choice.
