George Robert Fletcher Jr.

George Robert Fletcher Jr., a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, went to be with the Lord and Savior, Wednesday, June 19,2024.

Born on December 18, 1944, in Spartanburg, SC, he was a son of the late George and Mary Nicholson Fletcher. 

George obtained his Ph.D. in physics from Clemson University and went on to become the owner and operator of G II Solutions in Central. Establishing the company in 1983, he dedicated himself to its success for over four decades.

In addition to his professional and personal pursuits, George served in the Army Reserves for 26 years, a source of immense pride for him throughout his life. 

George had a variety of interests which included a love for working on mechanical projects, traveling the world with his wife Anne, and being an active member of Clemson United Methodist Church. He was also an active member of the Lions Club for almost 50 years. 

Most of all George loved his family. He leaves behind his loving wife Anne Cuba Fletcher; his children Michael Fletcher (Talia) of Greenville and Amy Massingill (Anthony) of Central; grandchildren Van Massingill (Haley), Alicia Reddy (Kevin), Kristyn, Ellie, and Georgie Massingill; great-grandchildren River Massingill and Paetyn Reddy; as well as his brothers Alfred (Jackie) and Edward Fletcher.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Kristy Fletcher.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on June 22, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Clemson United Methodist Church located at 300 Frontage Rd, Clemson, SC 29631.

Flowers will be accepted, but donations may be made to Clemson United Methodist Church.
