George Henry Jennings, Jr., 80, of 114 Sherry Lane, died Monday, October 20, 2008, at Regency Hospital.
Born in Augusta, GA, a son of the late George H. and Estelle Glisson Jennings, Sr., Mr. Jennings retired as an industrial instructor with Enoree Vocational School and was a member of the Liberty Masonic Lodge. He was a veteran of World War II having served with the US Army.
Surviving are his wife, Shelbie Mitchell Jennings of the home; three sons, George Jennings, III, of Orlando, FL, James E. Jennings of Panama City Beach, FL, and Leonard Fields of Liberty; three daughters, Patricia J. Battle of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Brenda J. Waters and Sheila Pearson both of Easley; three brothers, Lowell Jennings of Bryson City, NC, Robert Jennings of Martinez, GA, and Franklin Jennings of Hephzibah, GA; two sisters, Louisa Nix of Houston, TX, and Helen Canfield of Kokomo, IN; ten grandchidren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Jennings was predeceased by a brother, Winston Jennings.
Funeral services will be 3:30 p.m. Friday at Robinson Funeral Home Chapel - Downtown, burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park with Chaplain Major Robert Hunt, Jr. officiating.
The family is at the home of a daughter, Brenda Waters, 100 Windamere Road, Easley, SC 29640.
