The Reverend George Henry Laib, Jr., son of the late George Henry Laib, Sr. and the late Sarah Waters Laib died Wednesday November 7, 2007 after a short illness in Clearwater, Fl.

Born in Louisville, KY on December 16, 1924, he is survived by Mary, his loving wife of 59 years; daughter Laura and her husband Dennis of Atlanta, GA; sons George Stephen of Tampa, FL and Roger and his wife Maritza of Pittsburgh, PA and two grandchildren Ryan and Camille.

After attending Indiana University he went on to Virginia Theological Seminary for his Master's of Divinity degree. He served at the Church of the Advent and for many years with the Inter Parish Ministry in Cincinnati OH before moving to SC where he used his skills for the State Mental Health service. In retirement he lent his energy to many volunteer activities including several years as president for the Oconee County Habitat for Humanity chapter. He enjoyed an active life full of tennis, water and snow skiing, sailing, camping and hiking. He brought a smile and joy to all those who met him.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6pm on Sunday, Nov. 11 at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, 108 Cross Creek Rd, Central, SC 29630

Memorial services will be held on Monday, Nov. 12 at 3pm at Holy Trinity,
193 Old Greenville Highway, Clemson, SC 29631

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to:
