George Allen Morgan, 68, of 1201 Autun Road died Thursday, November 19, 2009 at his residence.

Born in Pickens County, a son of the late James Robert and Bertha Alice Evans Morgan, he was a retired employee with Clemson University and a member of Sandy Springs UMC. George was a kind soul, loving father, husband, brother, loyal friend and a life-long Democrat.

Surviving are his wife, Travis Elizabeth Elrod Morgan of the home; daughter, Hope Morgan Atyeo; son-in-law, Thomas Warren Atyeo of Anderson; son, Daniel George Morgan and wife, Minnie Smouse Morgan of Pendleton; granddaughter, Asheton Grey Atyeo; three sisters, Roberta Head of Seneca, Betty Jo Holcombe of Dallas, TX and Ann Harllee of Graniteville, SC; one brother James Morgan of Pelzer; and loyal canine companion, O'Rielly.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Deryl Grey Morgan; and a sister, Barbara Hay.

Funeral services will be 3 PM, Sunday in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home with burial in Lawrence Chapel UMC Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 3 PM, Sunday at the funeral home.
