George Benson Nix, 75 of 785 Connelly Road, died Thursday, February 25, 2010, at McCall Hospice House.
Born in Pickens County, a son of the late Lawrence B. Nix and Mary Essie Revis Nix, Mr. Nix retired from Ryobi after thirty five years of service and was a member of Midway Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife Virginia Nix, of the home; a daughter, Barbara Nabors (David) of Liberty; two brothers , James Nix and Ralph Nix, both of Pickens; one sister, Hazel Mason of Pickens; two grandchildren, Missy James and Josh Lesley. In addtion to his parents, Mr. Nix was predeceaced by four brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with the Reverends Tony Stancell and Kenneth Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home, prior to the service.
The family is at the home of his daughter, Barbara Nabors, 380 Campground road, Liberty, S.C. 29657.
