Rev. George E. Pitts Jr., 78, of 903 South Fifth Street, husband of the late Ida Lou Owens Pitts, died Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at his home.

Born in Pickens County, a son of the late George Earl "Bub" Pitts Sr., and the late Sara "Sallie" Batson Pitts, Mr. Pitts retired from Alice Manufacturing Co. and was a member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Cheryl Pitts, and John and Kathy Pitts, all of Easley; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patti and Ron McGaha, and Kim and Alvin Hiles, all of Easley; two sisters, Betty Sanders and husband, Tommy, of Easley, and Eva Mae Leonard and husband, Keith, of Gatlinburg, TN; nine grandchildren, Stacey Hiles, Jeff Pitts and his wife, Robin, Benji McGaha, Bailey Hiles, Jonathan Pitts and his wife, Brittany, Christopher Pitts, Justin Pitts, Addison Pitts, and Charlie Pitts; and two great grandchildren, Savannah and Belle.. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Pitts was predeceased by three brothers, Roy, Bill, and James; two sisters, Barbara and Mary Lois.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday at St. Andrew United Methodist Church with the Rev. Barry Cannon and Darren Hook officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

The body is at Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown where the family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:30 P.M. Friday, and will be placed in the church at 10:00 A.M. Saturday.
