George Ellsworth Steele, Jr., 76, husband of Jelena Anders Steele and formerly of Taylors, died Sunday, October 5, 2008 at home.
Born in Commerce, GA, the son of the late George Ellsworth and Odette Pass Steele, he retired after 31 years of service as a letter carrier with the US Postal Service, was a US Marine veteran of the Korean Conflict and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are two daughters, Ann Palau (Mark) of Jacksonville, FL and Lori Hall of Willow Springs, NC; two sons, Rusty Steele (Jan) of Easley and Andy Steele (Kirstin) of Charleston, SC; and five grandchildren, Adam Palau, Nikki Steele, Josh Steele, Eric Palau and Zach Hall.
Memorial services will be 6 PM, Tuesday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road with Reverend Joel Jenkins officiating.
Visitation will be immediately following the service at the funeral home.
The family is at the home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or to Meals on Wheels of Greenville.
