George Melvin Tinsley, 79 of 127 Buckle Drive died Sunday, April 20, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital.

Mr. Tinsley was born in Pickens County, a son of the late George Nathan and Meda Bracken Tinsley. He retired from Roadway Express after 25 years of service and was a volunteer with Amvets. He was a U.S. Army Air Corp. Veteran and a Christian.

Surviving are his son, Tracy Freeman-Tinsley of Easley; daughters Melinda Bouchillon of Piedmont, Mechelle Blackwell and her husband Scott of Mauldin and Medessa Jones and her husband Brian of Easley. Sisters Ellen Harbin of Lavonia, Georgia and Armeda Riggins of Florida. Grandchildren Kristen Bouchillon, Corey Bouchillon, Leah Blackwell, Lauren Blackwell, Tinley Poole and Christopher Jones; and his sweetheart, Dot Miller and her son, Gene Miller.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, O'Bryan Tinsley and sisters JoAnn Bowers, Joyce Atkins and Bethel Tinsley.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Pastor Dan Atkins and Pastor Chris Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery West.

The family is at the home of Melinda Bouchillon, 211 River Oaks Circle, Piedmont, and will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
