Georgia Sweet Cuddy, 90, formerly of 312 Frank Street, died Thursday, July 16, 2009 at Oakmont East Nursing Center in Greenville.
Born in Perry County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Tillie Jenkins Sweet. She was a member of Arial Church of God and a homemaker.
Mrs. Cuddy is survived by seven sons, Harrison Cuddy (Carolyn) of Easley, Earl Cuddy (Betty) of Hazard, Kentucky, Douglas Cuddy (Imogene) of Miamisburg, Ohio, Charles Cuddy (Geraldine) of Dacusville, Terry Cuddy (Donna) of Hazard, Kentucky, Jerry Cuddy of Dacusville and Ricky Cuddy (Susan) of Greenville; a daughter, Patsy C. Day (Joseph) of Easley; a brother, Sam Sweet of Ohio; a grandson, Danzil Cuddy, who was raised in her home; fourteen other grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cuddy is predeceased by her husband, Denzil M. Cuddy and by several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Engle-Walker Funeral Home, Perry County Chapel, 320 Morton Blvd., Hazard, Kentucky 41701 . Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Hazard, Kentucky.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service.
The family is at their respective homes.
