Gerald Ray Long, 59, husband of Rhonda Green Long, passed away peacefully Friday, February 21, 2014 at his residence.

Born in Williamston, to the late Marvin Wilton "Cotton" and Verenda Ragsdale Long, Gerald was a former police officer with the city of Easley and went on to work at Michelin Research Corp. for thirty years until his retirement. Mr. Long was a loving husband, father, brother and friend who enjoyed antiques and old cars. He was a member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of thirty-three years, is a son, Justin R. Long; two brothers, his twin, Derrell Long (Glenda) and Chris Long (Kim); and a sister, Vickie L. Kerr (Dan).

Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Monday, February 24, 2014 at Mt. Airy Baptist Church, with the Reverends Dr. Keith Shorter and David Storay, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens.

A visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. until 2:45 P.M. Monday, prior to the service at Mt. Airy Baptist Church.

The family is at the residence.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mt. Airy Baptist Church Building Fund, 210 Mt. Airy Church Road, Easley, SC 29642, or memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
