Mr. Gerald D. Sheriff, 77, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 26, 2021.
Born in Pickens County, a son of the late Larry Dean Sheriff and the late Sarah Elizabeth Sheriff, Dean was the husband of fifty-six years to Yvonne Elrod Sheriff. He was the father of three children, Benjamin Dean Sheriff (Angie), Jason Matthew Sheriff (Angela), and Dora Jennifer Van Patton (John). Dean was the proud Papa of five grandsons, Braxton (Laura), Colton (MacKenzie), Dalton (Hannah), Ashton, and Bennett; and one granddaughter, Alexis; a great-grandson on the way, Parker Dean Sheriff; and a sister, Dianne Heatherly; In addition to his parents, Mr. Sheriff was predeceased by a brother, David Alley Sheriff.
He was a faithful husband, father, and servant of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He faithfully attended Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, and proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He enjoyed spending time with his family, reading his bible, and serving in his church.
Funeral services will be 3:30 PM Sunday, August 29, 2021 at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, 830 Country Club Road, Pickens, SC 29671. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 PM until 3:30 PM Sunday at the church, prior to the service.
