Gertrude Dean Shepherd, 92, of Easley went to be with the Lord Saturday, December 22, 2012 at the home of her daughter in Liberty.
Born in Anderson County, Mrs. Shepherd was a daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Etta Elizabeth Holiday Dean. She retired from Alta Vista Health Care and was a member of Pendleton Street Baptist Church, Easley.
Mrs. Shepherd was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are a son, Larry Wayne Shepherd (Sandra) of Greenville; two daughters, Joyce Holder (Furman)of Easley and Peggy Alexander of Liberty, 14 grandchildern, 29 great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Shepherd was predeceased by two sons, John Earl Shepherd and James C. Shepherd and by three brothers and seven sisters.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday, December 24, 2012 at Pendleton Street Baptist Church, Easley. Burial will follow in Pine Lawn Cemetery in Pelzer.
Visitation will be from 3:00 until 5:00 PM Sunday at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
Memorials may be made to Open Arms Hospice, 1836 West Georgia Road, Simpsonvile, SC 29680 or to the charity of one's choice.
