Ghanma Jacob Bishara, 93, of Easley, South Carolina, wife of the late Attalla Joudeh, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2026, at her home.
Born in Damascus, Syria, she was a daughter of the late Jacob Bishara and M'dalaleh Alkhoury. Ghanma earned an Associate Degree in Elementary Education from the Damascus Institute of Teachers. She moved to the United States from Syria in 1997, ultimately making South Carolina her home to be close to her family, who meant everything to her. She was a devout woman of faith who was an active member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Greenville, a former board member of a local church in Syria, and a founding member of the Roman Orthodox Church of Mazzeh in Damascus.
Ghanma was a selfless, dedicated, resourceful, hardworking savvy business woman with strong moral values, keen vision, wise counsel and a big heart. A passionate advocate for education and academia, she devoted herself to encouraging and pushing her children to complete their education. She had a lifelong love for learning new things, following politics, traveling, gardening, sewing, knitting, and preparing healthy delicious meals for those she loved.
She is survived by her four sons, Akram Joudeh (Majda Alhaj), Dr. Samer Joudeh (Sawsan Bitar), Dr. Thaer Joudeh (Neda Salim), and Ayham Joudeh (Mervat Joudeh); a daughter, Rehab Joudeh, a brother, Mousa Bishara; a sister, Mariam Bishara; fifteen grandchildren, Attalla Joudeh (Stefania Morandi), Sahar Joudeh Elliot (Britton Elliot), Nedda Joudeh, Lana Joudeh, Sami Joudeh, Ammar Joudeh (Arienne Malekmadani), Layla Joudeh (Charles Webber), Zane Joudeh, Nyah Joudeh, Sammy Joudeh, Liza Joudeh, Jude Joudeh, Lynne Waheeba (Matthew Deiulio), Elias Waheeba, and Nora Waheeba; and six great grandchildren, Emma, Kai, Mia, Amelia, Ella, and Gold.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob Bishara and M'dalaleh Alkhoury; a daughter, Sahar Joudeh; a grandson, Alan Joudeh; a great-grandchild, Fadi; and son-in-law, Michel Wheibe.
A Trisagion service will take place at 5:00 PM on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Robinson Funeral Home – Powdersville Road, with a visitation following until 7:00 PM.
The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 28, 2026, at St. George Greek Orthodox Church. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens. Following the burial, all attendees are warmly invited to a memorial dinner gathering at the Joudeh residence, 100 Overlook Court, Easley, SC 29642.
