Giles Osborne Crandall, 81, of 307 Wellington Way, died Saturday, January 31, 2009 at Oconee Memorial Medical Center.
Born in Anderson, a son of the late Will Giles and Helen Mae Osborne Crandall. In addition to his parents, a brother Henry, a sister Gladys Willie and his son, Robert Keith preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife, Betty Mauldin Crandall and son Sam G. Crandall of the home.
He was a World War II, US Navy Veteran, having served on the ship, USS Alabama. He was a member of Central First Baptist Church.
A graveside service with military honors will be 3:30 PM Thursday at Old Stone Church Cemetery with Reverends Tony Qualkinbush and Fred "Tab" Scarborough officiating.
The family suggests memorials be made to the American Legion Building Fund; Charles McGee Byrd, Post 120; PO Box 204; Seneca, SC 29679, Hospice of the Foothills Foundation; 390 Keowee School Road; Seneca, SC 29672 or to the charity of one's choice.
The family is at the home.
