Gladys Martin Palmer Herron, 86, of 513 Wood Street died Tuesday, May 24, 2011 in Greenville, SC.
Born in Central, Gladys was a daughter of the late Capers and Irene Pinion Martin. She was twice widowed having been married to Johnny Palmer and then later to Cranford Herron. She was a homemaker and a member of Cannon Memorial Baptist Church.
Surviving are her son, John Wallace Palmer and wife, Helen of Central; daughter Becky P. Powell and husband, Billy of Surfside Beach, SC; two brothers, Junior Martin of Central and Melvin Martin of Berea, SC; two sisters, Lillian Dobson and Syble Lackey both of Central; grandchildren, Ron Palmer, Greg Powell and Jill Bradley; and 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 PM, Thursday in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home with burial to follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 PM, Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home.
The family is at the home.
