Gladys K. Jamison

Gladys King Jamison, 95, passed away peacefully on January 14. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Ellis M. Jamison, and is survived by her son and daughter, Marion Jamison and Gayla Jamison, and a son-in-law, Bernardo Gomez.
Gladys was born in Anderson, South Carolina, the daughter of Edward C. and Etta Giles King. She studied business at Anderson College. During World War II she met her future husband, whom she called "Eli," while he was stationed in Anderson. After the war the couple and their two young children moved to Easley, where Gladys became a volunteer at East End School and was active in the Easley Presbyterian Church as a Sunday School teacher and a member of the women's circle. She was a devoted mother, witty conversationist, good neighbor, and an avid gardener.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 21, at 2:00 p.m., at The Foothills Presbyterian Retirement Community, 205 Bud Nalley Drive, Easley, SC 29642. A reception will be held immediately following the service.
