Gladys H. Rampey

Gladys Herd Rampey, widow of William “Jack” Rampey, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 16, 2023. She was born in Pickens County February 22, 1933, the daughter of Guy and Nora Elizabeth Smith Herd.

Gladys loved The Pickens View Wesleyan Church, enjoying any of the activities going on there. She and Jack loved going into the mountains and traveling to Pigeon Forge. She was a great cook. Above all, Gladys loved spending time with her family and with her church family.

Gladys is survived by two sons, Larry Rampey and his wife, Barbara of Liberty, and Steve Rampey and Darlene Brunson of Piedmont; four grandchildren, Katrina Moore, Shannon Gydsen, Dustin Rampey, and Colie Clardy; ten great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her beloved husband, Gladys was preceded in death by five sisters and a brother.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, March 19^th in the chapel at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, 108 Cross Creek Road, in Central. The family will receive friends at 2:00 PM prior to the service. Interment will be at Liberty Memorial Gardens.
