Evelyn Zipperer

Gladys Evelyn Powell Zipperer, 88, loving wife of Frank Martin Zipperer passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. Born on April 2, 1938, in Lakeland, Florida, to the late Robert Chester Powell and the late Fannie Grimes Powell.

Evelyn was a devoted member of Trinity Baptist Church. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she cherished her church family deeply. The relationships she nurtured within her church community became an enduring source of spiritual strength, fellowship, and steadfast support throughout the years.

Evelyn found immense joy in life’s simple pleasures—she loved shopping, sharing moments with her friends, embarking on small adventures, canning, and surrounding herself with her angel collection.

Her proudest accomplishments were her family and being a Grandma, a role she treasured above all others. Her family remembers her as someone whose love was unwavering and brought joy to every gathering, and whose wisdom shaped generations. The time she spent with loved ones was her greatest gift, and she truly delighted in each precious moment.

In addition to her husband of 60 years, she is survived by daughters, Theresa Haygood (Gary) and Janice Hastings (Jimmy); grandchildren, Jeremy Haygood (Mallory), Zack Haygood (Katie), Adam Hastings (Erica) and Steven Hastings (Hanna); great-grandchildren, Zoe, Emerson, Greer and Scout Haygood and Jordan, Naomi and Abigail Hastings; a brother, Richard Powell; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation to honor and remember Evelyn will be held from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM on Monday, August 24, 2026, at Robinson Funeral Home, Powdersville Road, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley, SC 29642. Her funeral service will follow at 10:00 AM in the chapel. Burial will be held in Robinson Memorial Gardens, 1425 Powdersville Rd, Easley, SC 29642.

Evelyn Zipperer’s warmth and loving presence will be missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, kindness, and fond memories, touching the lives of all thosefortunate enough to have been part of her journey.
