Glenda Ann Harkins Gillespie
June 22, 1940 — June 3, 2021
Glenda Ann Harkins Gillespie, 80, peacefully went home to her Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at McCall Hospice House.
Born in Greenville County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Frank G. Harkins and the late Ruth Kathleen Horton Harkins. Glenda retired from Winn Dixie and was an active member of Tremont Church of God. She was the Assistant Leader / Leader of Ladies and Men's Prayer Band. She was an amazing Prayer Warrior, who loved the Lord with all her heart. She was a dedicated volunteer to the soldiers and families of the Army Reserve 391st Engineer Battalion. She had over 8000 volunteer hours with the Family Readiness Group. She was a loving mother, and grandmother who enjoyed shopping, helping others, and spending time with her family.
Surviving, are her daughter, Genae (Kim) Lancaster of Fountain Inn; her two sons, William (Keith) Gillespie and Michael (Rick) Gillespie both of Easley; grandchildren, Luke Lancaster and Lucy Lancaster of Fountain Inn; a brother D. Ray Harkins (Pam) of Easley; and a sister, Gail Hiles (Mike) of Easley.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Melvin G. Harkins.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Tremont Church of God. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45p.m. Saturday, June 5, 2021 at the Church, prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tremont Church of God Food Pantry and Ladies and Men's Prayer Band at 2854 New Easley Hwy, Greenville, SC 29611
