Col. (Ret.) Glenn L. Johnson, 90, of 603 Asbury Circle, passed away Monday, June 28, 2010, at his home.
Born in Atlanta, GA, the son of the late Claude Glenn and Gilbert Bequinot Johnson, Col. Johnson retired from the United States Air Force after thirty years of service, after which he also retired from Work Wear Corp. He was a member of Easley Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are four sons, Jack Johnson (Nina) of Amelia Plantation, FL, John Johnson (Anna) of Alpharetta, GA, Joe Johnson (Lou Anne) of Easley, and Jim Johnson (Becky) of Greenville; a sister, Claudie Kolowich of Birmingham, AL; a stepson, Ron Rogers (Nancy) of Lynchburg, VA; two step-daughters, Peggy Brown Denny Baker of Florence, and Janice Coutret Lowe of League City, TX; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Col. Johnson was predeceased by his first wife, Evelyn Williams Johnson and by his second wife, Bessie Lou Rogers Guffy Johnson.
Graveside memorial services, with military honors, will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Open Arms Hospice, 1836 West Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680.
The family is at the residence.
