Mr. Glynn Cawthon, 77, of Greenville, husband to Barbara Simpson Cawthon, passed peacefully Wednesday, September 28th in Richard Campbell Veteran Nursing Home in Anderson.


Born in Toccoa, GA to the late Jeff Cawthon and Eva Mae Wright Cawthon.


Mr. Cawthon was a veteran of the US Navy, serving in Vietnam.   He was a member of Tremont Church of God in Greenville for 9 years, a member of Monaghan Lodge #121 AFM in Greenville, and a member of the Disabled American Veteran's Association.   He loved boating, spending time at the lake, fishing, the Georgia Bulldogs, and golfing with his special golfing buddies, Buddy Simpson and Mack McKinney.


In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his twin brother, Lynn Cawthon, and two sons, Richard Allen Cawthon and Tony Glynn Cawthon.


Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 33 years; son, Darren Davidson of Easley; daughters, Teresa Brook of Clinton, SC, and Lisa Harris of Easley; brother, Dud Cawthon of Helen, GA; sisters, Velma Gettys of Toccoa, GA, and Carol Bray of Cordele, GA; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.


Funeral service will be held Friday, September 30th at 12:00 PM, noon, at Tremont Church of God, 2854 New Easley Hwy, Greenville, SC with Bishop Eddie Allen and Rev. Wilson Kilgore officiating.   Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens.


Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM prior to the service at the church.


Mr. Cawthon's family will be at the residence.


Flowers are accepted at the church, and family has requested donations be made directly to Patriot Hospice of the Upstate, 54 Bear Drive, Greenville, SC 29605 or Tremont Church of God, 2854 New Easley Hwy, Greenville, SC 29611.
