Gordon Eli Breedlove, Jr., born November 9, 1943 in Greenville County, passed from this life and into the arms of Jesus on September 20, 2021. He was the son of the late Gordon Breedlove, Sr. and Ella Breedlove.
Known by all as Junior, he was a lover of old model cars, who was a book of knowledge....and advice. He was a sweet soul and enjoyed visiting with friends. He loved time with family and would take any opportunity to sneak up and scare someone or play silly pranks if he could.
Junior worked most of his life in textiles, making many friends throughout the years. He also worked at Western Auto for years and was seen almost daily bringing out mowers to the corner of the road in town. Later in life, even weeks before he became sick, you might see him in his old Dodge truck, picking up scrap. He was a worker and a fighter, until the very end.
He lived a simple life but made a profound impact on those that knew and loved him.
He is survived by his ex-wife and fishing buddy, Stella Breedlove; children, Ann Trimnal (Rick), Billy Breedlove, Rita Anderson (Andy); grandchildren, Angela, Joshua, Noah, Brittany, Daniel, and Adriana; great-grandchildren, Silas, Huxlee, Everett, Emmett and Anna, who was his Sunshine during a difficult time after losing his leg; and siblings, Nell McCroskey, Guy Breedlove and Mary Barker. He is also survived by his long-time girlfriend, Pam Kirk.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 23, 2021 at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Pickens.
The family will receive friends from 12:45 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at the church, prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at support.woundedwarriorproject.org/donate.
The family will be at the home of Rita Anderson.
