Grace Alexander Gibson, 75, widow of Otis Gibson, died Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at the Hospice House of Anderson. A native of Six Mile she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Leora Bell Alexander. She was a life-long member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and enjoyed her family very much. She worked for many years at the Garrett's Clothing store in Clemson.
She is survived by daughters, Wanda O'Shields and husband Kent of Liberty and Debbie Simmons and husband Charlie of Seneca, grandchildren, Stacy Browder, Brett Simmons, and Brian and Alex O'Shields, great-grandchildren, Madison Stewart and Morgan Browder, brother, Bud Alexander of Six Mile and sisters, Mae Watson of Easley, Ellen Stokes of TN, Mary Young, Sue Cox and Martha McAbee of Six Mile. She was predeceased by brothers Charlie and Claude Alexander and sister Nina Alexander.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2pm at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The body is at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home in Central where the family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:30-8:30pm and will be placed in the church on Friday at 1pm. Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621. The family is at the residence, 418 Windy Hill Road, Central.
