Grace Porter
Satterfield
Nov 22, 1934 — Jun 18, 2026
Brushy Creek Baptist Church
Starts at 3:00 pm (Eastern time)
Grace Porter Satterfield, 91, of Easley, SC, passed away into the arms of her Savior, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, June 18, 2026. Born on November 22, 1934, in Liberty, SC, she was the daughter of the late Dewitt and Eleanor Porter. She was a devoted wife to the late Carl "Winnie" Satterfield, the love of her life for 58 years.
Mrs. Satterfield was a retired bookkeeper for Century 21 John Flynn Company for over 40 years and a faithful and cherished member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church. From childhood, she was passionate about sharing the name of Jesus on mission trips that she took to Nicaragua and to Brazil.
Known to most as Miss Grace, she was a classy lady of strong faith, committed to boldly sharing the love of Christ with everyone she met. As a dedicated prayer warrior, she started every day with a black coffee while studying God's word and praying for the many names in her prayer journal.
A source of great joy for her was serving as a Sunday School teacher to her sweet friends in the Joy Sunday School Class. Something that brought a chuckle to others was listening to her share stories of her visits with the church's shut-ins and seniors, as she was a 91-year-old senior herself.
Grace loved everyone she met and always had words of encouragement to share. If she knew your birthday, without fail, there would be a birthday card in your mailbox from her.
As a mother, mother-in-law and grandmother, she was adoringly known as "Gran". She took great pride in serving her family, fiercely loving them unconditionally while enjoying every moment they spent together.
Along with her husband and her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers, William, James and Doyle Porter.
Grace is survived by daughter, Sherri Smith (Frankie) of Easley; grandchildren, Ben Smith and Yvette McClellan (Matt); great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Smith and Merritt McClellan; brother, David Porter, sisters-in-law, Fran Porter whom she considered her angel sister, JoAnn Westmoreland and many nieces and nephews.
She will be missed dearly by family and friends. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy... a woman of faith, a prayer warrior, an encourager, a loving mother and "Gran". To know her was to love her… Amazing Miss Grace!
A private family entombment will be held prior in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
Miss Grace's Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at Brushy Creek Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request that donation gifts be made in her memory to Brushy Creek Baptist Church, c/o Missions, 100 Clay St, Easley, SC 29642 or https://brushycreekchurch.com or Chosen Children's Ministries, 9420 Asheville Hwy, Inman, SC 29349.
