Grady Shedd "12 Mile Trucker", 73, of 1005 Liberty Highway, died Saturday, September 12, 2009 at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.
Born in Central, he was a son of the late Bixie "Buster" and Gertrude Martin Shedd. He was a retired truck driver with the Clarence Stegall Sand and Gravel Co., drove for Johnson Trucking of Greenville for 17 years and for the last 5 years drove for the Pickens Co. Seniors Unlimited.
Surviving are his wife, Reba Taylor Shedd of the home; son, Wayne Shedd and wife, Sherrie of Liberty; sister, Lola S. Thompson of Central; grandchildren, Christopher Shedd, Kristi Walden, Brittany and Heather White; great-grandchild, Kyler Walden; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lindon and Louise, Roy and Linda, James and Linda, Harvey and Earline Taylor and Joyce and Dolan Whitlock.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Junior Shedd; two sisters, Lillian Holder and Jeanette Shedd; and grandparents, Miles Logan and Delphi Roach Shedd and Sam and Nettie Gibson Martin.
Funeral services will be 3 PM, Tuesday in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home with burial to follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM, Monday at the funeral home.
