Grady N. Smith, 88, of Mountain Estates Road, husband of Lois Nicholson Smith, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2013 at his home.
Born in Pickens County, a son of the late Reuben Luther and Asia Malinda Holder Smith, Mr. Smith retired from Duke Power and was of the baptist faith. He loved reading his Bible, gardening, and raising chickens and beagles.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 63 years are, two sons, Stanley and Steve Smith; five daughters, Gennis Kelly (Hal), Wanda Smith, Betty Campbell (Tim), Jean Crawford, Lee Hunter (Eddie); two sisters, Mildred Dobson and Ersle Reid; eleven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren,and one due in August,and four great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was predeceased by a brother, RC Smith, a sister, Gertrude Evatt, a grandaughter, Amanda Whitaker, and a son-in-law, Valley Crawford.
Funeral services will be 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2013 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.. Burial will follow in Gap Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 3:15 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
The family is at the residence.
