Greg Kelley’s faith was made sight when he entered heaven and met His Savior, the LORD Jesus Christ at 7:32 P.M., Thursday, February 22, 2024.
Greg was born in Anderson, SC on August 21, 1957 to Milton and Bobbie Kelley. He was raised in a Christian home where the Word of God was taught. He loved sports and doing things outdoors, playing the guitar, singing, and photography. He met his wife, Teresa (Poitevint) while attending Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC. They were married 44 years and loved each other deeply. They were delighted when God added their son, Michael, to their family. Greg was called to preach on April 4th, 1976 and faithfully served God as a pastor for 44 years at churches in Colorado, South Carolina, Wyoming, Mississippi, and Texas. He never wanted to retire from preaching and often said he wanted to die with his boots on. Greg delighted in the LORD, and He gave him the desire of his heart. Greg loved preaching, had a heart for people and for the ministry. He took great joy in studying and preaching the Word of God, in introducing others to Christ, and in discipling men and women.
Greg is preceded in death by his father, Milton Kelley; his brother, Keith Kelley; His father-in-law, Seaborn Poitevint; and His brother-in-law, Craig Poitevint.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Teresa Kelley; their son, Michael (Kris) Kelley; 1 Grandchild, Aidan Kelley; His mother, Bobbie Kelley; 2 Brothers, Anthony (Kim) Kelley, and Noel (Nikki) Kelley; 2 sisters, Beth McGee and Teresa (Dan) Coke, 2 sister-in-laws, Martha Poitevint, and Karen (Lee) Baisden; His mother-in-law, Helen Poitevint; and several nephews and nieces.
