Guston Jerry Mitchum

Guston Jerry Mitchum, 83, husband of Robbie Ann Perry Mitchum, of Easley, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at home with his wife, daughter, and son by his side.

Born in Opelika, AL, he was a son of the late R.B. and Robbie Ray Mitchum.

After graduating from high school in Winfield, AL, Jerry joined the U.S. Marine Corps for four years. He later received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alabama and his Master's degree from the University of South Carolina, both degrees in Electrical Engineering. Jerry worked in the computer industry for 50 years and retired from NCR in Liberty, SC and Hewlett-Packard in Houston, TX.

In addition to his loving wife of nearly 63 years, Jerry is survived by son, Mark Mitchum (Kim); daughter, Melodee Wilson; grandson, McCain Beason (Ryan); granddaughter, Belle Mitchum; great-granddaughter, Veda Beason; and great-grandson, Ezra Beason.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Mitchum; and an infant nephew, William Burt Mitchum.

A private service will be held.

The family asks for no flowers, but prayers are always welcomed.
