GUYTON W. MARTIN - Clemson

Guyton William Martin, 73, husband of Joan Newton Martin died Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at Anderson Area Medical Center. A native of Anderson County, he was a son of the late William A. and Frances Richardson Martin.
He was a member of Gideons International and a faithful member of Utica Baptist Church where he taught Sunday school and served as an usher. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He graduated from White Plains High School and Forrest Business School. He worked for Milliken Finishing Plant in Pendleton for 41 years as a supervisor.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister, Avernell Cromer and her husband Leland "Joe" of Anderson.

He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Lee Elrod, and a brother, Thomas Martin.

Funeral services will be Friday at 2pm at Utica Baptist Church in Seneca. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens in Clemson. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home.
