Rev. G.W. Warren, 91, of Highland Circle, husband of the late Frances Louise Berry Warren, passed away Monday, February 10, 2014 at Baptist Easley Hospital.
Born in Geneva County, AL, to the late Allie G. and Effie Mae Newton Warren, Mr Warren was formerly employed with Saco Lowell and Kash & Karry, Central Textiles and Ortec. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in WW II. Stationed in the Philippines, he was a recipient of the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star and was one of the last surviving veterans of the Corregidor Campaign. Mr. Warren was a Pentecostal minister and a member of New Image Outreach.
Mr. Warren is survived by six sons, Bruce, George, Edward, Joe, Cecil, and Joel Warren; four daughters, Joan Warren, Marilyn Reynolds, Charlotte McConnell and Carol Martin; twenty-three grandchildren and twenty-eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Susan Myrnette Kimbrell; three brothers, Ray, Harve, and Buster Warren; and three sisters, Maude Rowland, Mary Alice Pervis and Madelene Williford.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Friday, February 14, 2014 at New Image Outreach Church. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Easley.
Visitation will be from 1:30 until 2:45 PM Friday at the church, prior to the service.
