Gwendolyn Adkins "Gwen" Vaughan, 83, wife of the late Walter Lee Vaughan, Jr., passed away Monday, December 31, 2012 at Mountain Home Health and Rehab in Hendersonville, NC.
Born in Greenville, to the late Haskell and Bernice Cassell Adkins, Mrs. Vaughan graduated from Easley High School and immediately started working for Stone Manufacturing where she was a Production Control Manager. She was a member of Berea Friendship United Methodist Church since 1956, where she was a member of the Huckabee Sunday School Class. When she wasn�??t working, Gwen�??s favorite past time was sewing.
Surviving are a son, Andrew Vaughan (Jan); a granddaughter, Diane R. Sentell; two great-grandchildren, Patty and Wyatt Sentell; and two sisters, Carolyn Lark, and Jacqueline Bagwell.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Renee Lisa Vaughan; and a sister, Katherine Foster.
A memorial service will be 3:00 P.M Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Berea Friendship United Methodist Church, with the Reverend David Brown officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Berea Friendship United Methodist Church, 8001 White Horse Road, Greenville, SC 29617.
The family is at the home.
