Henry Elliott Batson, age 95, of Easley, passed away Thursday, September 4, 2025.
Elliott was born in Greenville on February 19, 1930, to Louis Pinckney and Joanna Patterson Batson. A 1947 Graduate of Greenville High School and a 1951 Graduate of Clemson University where he earned his bachelor's degree in Textile Manufacturing, Elliott retired as the president of Louis P. Batson Company. He was a past member of the Greenville Chamber of Commerce, the Board of Visitors for Clemson University, The Young Presidents Organization, the World Business Council, and Poinsett Club. He was a former treasurer of Erskine College and a life member of IPTAY. Mr. Batson was a member of Greenville ARP Church.
Mr. Batson proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War as a weapons platoon leader, Battalion 54, 180 Infantry Equipment 45th Division.
Elliott is survived by his loving wife, Salley Langley Batson; his daughters, Edith Batson Parks (Rip), Caroline Batson Stewart (Dick) and Lucia Griffith (Mike); his grandchildren, Elliott Stewart, David Stewart (Callie), and Adele Stewart (Ryan Peters); and his great-grandchildren, Charlie, Ruth and Salley Stewart. In addition to his parents, Mr. Batson was predeceased by a brother, Louis P. Batson, Jr.; and a sister, Joanna B. Stone.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Greenville ARP Church with the Rev. James "Jay" Crout officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
A private burial will take place in the Springwood Cemetery, Greenville.
