Hallie E. Wannamaker

Hallie Etheridge Wannamaker, 93, formerly of St. Paul, Minnesota, widow of Lewis William Wannamaker, died Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Clemson Downs.
Hallie was born in Whitakers, NC, the eldest of five daughters of the late Claude and Grizzelle Baldwin Etheridge. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Women's College in Greensboro, NC. After graduation she met Lewis while working as a lab tech at Duke University. During their thirty five years of marriage they lived in Cheyenne, Boston, and New York before moving to the Twin Cities in Minnesota, where she lived for 55 years. During Lewis' career at the University of Minnesota, they also lived in London and Cologne, Germany. While living in St. Paul, she volunteered as a Docent at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis and was active in the League of Women Voters and the University of Minnesota Women's Club. She was a member of Fort Hill Presbyterian Church and loved traveling, gardening, reading, attending theatre, and playing tennis and bridge.
Surviving are son, Whit Wannamaker, of Tampa, FL; daughters, Julie Wannamaker and husband, Howard Bergman, of Alexandria, VA, Hallie Ann Wannamaker and husband, Vincent Brevetti, of Teaneck, NJ, and Libby Allen and husband, Ralph, of Seneca; sister, Sadie Carol Ward, of Roanoke Rapids, NC; grandchildren, Brent Allen, Mimi Bergman, Will Bergman, Hallie Emma Brevetti, Anna Brevetti, Hannah Wannamaker and Sadie Wannamaker.
A Family Graveside Service will be held in St. Mathews, SC.
A celebration of Hallie's life will be held at the Clemson Downs Corley Center on Saturday, March 31 at 2:00.
A second celebration of Hallie's life will be held in St. Paul, MN in June.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
