Hammond L. Meyers, Jr., 64, of 214 McConnell Road, died Sunday, October 12, 2008 at Magnolias of Greenville.
Born in Charleston, a son of the late Hammond L. Meyers, Sr., and the late Janie McConnell Meyers Thomas, Mr. Meyers retired as an engineer with the South Carolina Department of Transportation and was a member of Jones Hill Church of God. He was a veteran of the US Army having served in Vietnam and was a member of the Dacusville Volunteer Fire Department.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Duncan Meyers of the home; two sons, Michael David Meyers of Marietta, and Justin Daniel Meyers with the US Army stationed in Iraq; a daughter, Kimberly Robyn Meyers of the home; a brother, John Douglas Meyers of Marietta; a granddaughter, Brittany Meyers; and two grandsons, James Meyers and Wesley Meyers.
Graveside services, with military honors, will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Robinson Memorials Gardens, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley, with Rev. Stewart Anderson officiating.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road, Easley.
Memorials may be made to Samaritan Care Hospice, 500 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
The family is at the residence.
