Harold James Brown, 87, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 14, 2019. He was born in Hartwell, Georgia September 14, 1931, a son of Albert R. and Gertrude Shaw Brown.
Harold was a manager at JP Stevens for 25 years and served in the Army National Guard. Whenever he could he would play golf. He and June played whenever they had a chance.
Harold is survived by his loving wife of 69 years June Turner Brown of Anderson; two sons, Robert of Spartanburg and Jeff (Theresa) of Williamston; four daughters, Lydia Toney of Columbia, Donna Rainey (Don) of Easley, Clarissa Brown of Anderson, and Amanda Ellis (Stephen) of Bluffton; thirteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Harold was predeceased by three brothers, Edgar, Leland, and Gerald Brown; three sisters, Elmer Burrell, Glady Shirley, and Jewell McClain; and one grandchild, Harold Brown.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, April 17 at the First Baptist Church of Pendleton, 351 S. Broad St., Pendleton, SC 29621. Interment will follow in the First Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at 2:00 PM prior to the service.
