He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Martha Scott Jones; his daughters, Morgan Jones Bowie and her husband Cal Bowie, of Edgefield, SC, and Natalie Jones Christian and her husband Mark Christian, residing in New Orleans, LA. He and Martha have been blessed with two precious grandsons, Banks Lawson (11) and Bennett Lee (8) Bowie of Edgefield, SC. Rhyne was born on December 27, 1951 in Winnsboro, SC to Harold and Elaine. He was a graduate of Winnsboro High School. He then received his bachelor's degree in political science from Clemson University in 1976. On June 3, 1978 he married Martha Scott of Johnston, SC.

He had a successful career in management in the industrial textile industry prior to opening a furniture consignment business with Martha in the Clemson area.

Rhyne enjoyed golfing, hunting, horseback riding and snow skiing, but most of all, he really loved tailgating and watching his Clemson Tigers. He was known for his charming wit and mischievous grin.
