Mr. Harold B. Kay, Jr., age 69 of Easley, S.C., passed from this life on Sunday, January 13, 2019. He was born in Greenville, S.C. on September 26, 1949. He was a 1971 graduate of Carson-Newman College. He was a school social worker for 33 years for The School District of Greenville County. He also umpired high school baseball and softball for 15 years for the South Carolina High School League. Mr. Kay was a member of Buncombe St. United Methodist Church.
Prior to becoming disabled, Mr. Kay enjoyed fishing and playing golf. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, sons, and grandchildren. He was an avid Clemson Tiger fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold B. and Sara Bynum Kay, and his brother Johnny Kay.
He is survived by his wife Linda, his brother Terry Kay, his sons Andrew Kay and wife Tammy of Simpsonville, S.C., Matthew Kay and wife Allyson of Greenville, S.C., and Ryan Kay of the home. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2019 in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at the funeral home, prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pendleton Place Children's Shelter, or to the charity of one's choice in Mr. Kay's memory.
