Hazel Virginia Alexander Aiken, 82, of 326 Nealy Street, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 23, 2012 at Capstone Health and Rehab.

Born in Six Mile, Mrs. Aiken was a daughter of the late Luther Alexander and the late Paralee Holcombe Alexander Gilstrap. She graduated from Tamassee DAR School and was a homemaker. Mrs. Aiken was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, and she was a devoted, loving wife, mother, and nanny.

Surviving are two sons, Steve Aiken of Easley and Tony Aiken of Pickens; a daughter, Marlene Aiken of Pickens; seven grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a half-sister, Diane Byars. Mrs. Aiken was predeceased by her husband, Marlin Aiken; a son, Jackie Aiken; a sister, Mamie Jo Williams; and a half-brother, Lt. Col. Billy Gilstrap.

Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Monday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown Easley. Burial will follow in Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.

The family is at the home of Marlene Aiken, 210 Planer Street, Pickens, SC 29671.
