Mrs. Hazel Blythe Jennings, 82, of 110 Willow Place, wife of the late James Ellis Jennings, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2011 at Baptist Easley Hospital.

Born July 30, 1929 in Hendersonville, NC, she was the youngest child of the late J.D. and Virginia McCall Blythe. After relocating to Greenville, SC, Hazel graduated from Parker High School in 1946. She met and married James, her husband of 62 years, in 1947. Her hobbies included gardening, puzzles, and card games. She had a love for animals and rescued and cared for many throughout her life. She resided on White Horse Rd. for most of her married life and worked as an inspector at Union Carbide before retirement. She is survived by one sister, Faye Upchurch.

In addition to her sister, she is survived by her children, Vicky Henderson and husband, John, of Columbia, Sherry Carter of Santa Rosa, Florida, John Jennings and wife, Susan, of Columbia and Susan Henry and husband, Tommy, of Santa Rosa, Florida; grandchildren, Kerri Porter, Terri Benz, Daniel B. Carter, III, Karen Good, Courtney Hood, Brett Henry, Lisa Jennings, Cheryl Jennings and David Jennings; great-grandchildren, Gavin Porter, Macie Porter, Oliver Porter, Anabelle Carter, D. Brooks Carter, IV, Ava Hood and Gabriel Benz.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday, November 6, 2011 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Rev. Ronnie Williams officiating.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Greenville Humane Society, 328 Furman Hall Rd., Greenville, SC 29609.
