Helen Margaret Mayer Combs, 94 of Clemson, SC passed away Saturday, December 14, 2013.
Helen was born in Harvey, North Dakota, to the late Emma Suckut and Louis George Mayer. In 1937, she married Alpha Franklin Combs and was widowed in 2004. She, also, was preceded in death by daughter Ly Lan Mitchell; sons Dee Loren and Bradley Lewis; grandson, Robert Combs; three brothers; and three sisters.
Helen is survived by her eldest son, Floyd Lee Combs of Clemson, SC; seven grandchildren, Lorraine Schessler, Todd Combs, Parker Combs, Lindsey Mahaffey, Jasmine Lyle, Lt. Taylor Combs (USN), Capt. Robert Mitchell (USMC); five great-grandchildren, Dylan Combs, Benjamin Schessler, Lauren Gabrielle Combs, Lauren Elizabeth Combs, Claire Lyle and Winter Combs.
Helen was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clemson where many of the members of her Sunday Ester Class were her treasured neighbors and friends.
Following a private cremation, a memorial service will be held in California, her home for many years.
