Helen Skelton Durand, 94, of Clemson passed away Saturday, November 13, 2021, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Oconee County April 7, 1927, the daughter of the late Jim and Minnie C. Skelton.
Helen retired from First National Bank of SC (Clemson) after 21 years of service. She was a Charter Member of East Clemson Baptist Church, where she served as Treasurer for 30 years and created floral arrangements for the services.
Helen's life was filled with faith in God. She lovingly cared for her family, friends, and flowers.
Helen is survived by a son, Ken T. McMahan (Anne) of Pendleton and a daughter, Kay M. Weaver (Chuck) of Central; grandchildren: Jonathan T. McMahan (Kimberly) and Megan E. Weaver; great grandchildren: Ella, Maggie, and Annie Kate McMahan, and numerous nieces and nephews. Also left to lovingly remember her are Danny, Susan, and Kaytie Cobb.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husbands, Rudolph McMahan, and Charles R. Durand; and an infant son, Gerald McMahan; and eight brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 16 at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home in Central. A private committal service will follow at Oconee Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 prior to the service.
Due to health concerns, the family requests that those attending observe Covid-19 protocols.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cottingham Hospice House, 390 Keowee School Road, Seneca, SC 29672 or to a charity of one's choice.
