Helen Louise Flesner, beloved wife of Lester G. Flesner, born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to William B. and Mina Bebout; one of four daughters, Mary Alice Epps, deceased; Billie Jeune Swinney, deceased; and Ruth Culver of Plano, Texas; Graduated from Oklahoma State University (BS) Dietician; completed advance degree (MS) at Barnes Hospital, St. Louis, MO.
Married Lester G. Flesner, Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1937; moved to Tahlequah, Oklahoma; two children, son William G. Flesner, Santa Fe, New Mexico; and daughter, Jane Brown Hopkins, Clemson, South Carolina. She was a homemaker and dedicated wife; was head dietician at the Indian Hospital, and managed high school cafeterias in Tahlequah and Falls Church, Virginia. After moving to Houston, Texas, she entered the real estate profession and was successful in commercial and residential sales. She moved to Pendleton, South Carolina upon her husband�??s retirement in 1990.
She was a faithful member of Pendleton United Methodist Church and participated in many activities at the church, serving as chair person of the Sunday School Class with her husband. She volunteered for many years at Clemson Community Care.
In addition to her spouse, she is survived by her son, William G. Flesner and his wife, Pam of Santa Fe, New Mexico and daughter Jane Brown Hopkins and her husband, Bobby of Clemson, South Carolina. She is survived by 7 grandchildren, Stephanie Cookson (David), Wendy Weldon (Tom), Michelle White (Dennis), Kelly Gurley (Matt), Christopher Flesner, Scott Gaspard, Shantal Milner (Brandon), and preceded in death by 1 grandchild, William Flesner. She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren, Lauren & Sean Stephansen, Andy, Hank, Trey and Renee Weldon, Kirsten White, Rachel and Hayden Gurley, and Morgan and Justin Milner.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, September 5, 2011 at 11:00AM at Pendleton United Methodist Church with visitation immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.
